Using the Gaaia cup

Before the first use

After removing the cup from the box, check to see if the air holes of the cup are open. These air holes help to break the suction seal so you can remove your Gaaia cup easily.

We recommend boiling the cup in water for 4-5 minutes to sanitize it. Do ensure that the cup does not touch the bottom of the pan. You may use tongs or a spoon to ensure that this does not happen.

Wash your hands and cup with clean water and mild soap, and rinse thoroughly. This is extremely important to ensure that no bacteria enters your body.

2. While squeezing the cup, fold it in towards you and into a C-shape
3. Hold your Gaaia cup in this position and insert

The Punch-down Fold:
1. Hold your Gaaia cup lightly with one hand
2. Using your free hand's index finger, punch down any side of the cup.
3. Hold your Gaaia cup in this position and insert

The 7-Fold:

How to insert the Gaaia cup

Rinse: Using water and mild soap, wash hands and cup.
Comfortably fold: Fold your cup using a method that is comfortable for you.
Relax your muscles. You can stand, sit or raise one of your legs. Hold your cup firmly folded and guide it towards your vagina.
Insert. Guide your cup into your vagina, pointing it upwards and slightly toward your tail bone. Aim to keep your cup folded until it is entirely inside of your vagina.
Release. Gently release your folded cup – it will pop open and seal to your vaginal walls, not to your cervix.
Test. Run a finger along the base of your cup to check for folds and gently try to rotate the cup to test that it is sealed. If your cup has sealed, it will not yield to your attempts to rotate it. Once placed correctly and sealed, your cup will stay in place and collect your flow.
